Hari Raya cheer for senior folks

Led by our MIG Group CEO and COO Dato’ Brian and Dato’ Stanley, MIG brought festive cheer to the elderly folks at Pusat Jagaan Al-Fikrah Malaysia in Kajang for the Hari Raya celebration this year.

The MIG team spent the morning preparing simple activities to break the ice and engage with the residents. There was even an impromptu karaoke session where one of our team members sang classic Malay rock songs with several residents, to the delight of the rest. The MIG team also took time to chat with some of the residents, listening to their stories and plights.

Dato’ Brian said the company wanted to reach out to help the less privileged or those in need of support. “As we celebrate Raya with our Muslim friends, it is important for us to remind each other, especially the young, to appreciate the elders. We need to promote a caring society among Malaysians to help the elderly survive their golden years with dignity,” he said.

MIG also sponsored RM10,000 in goods and daily essentials for Al-Fikrah, and presented the items to its founder, Tuan Haji Mohd Azmi Bin Mohd Zain. Also present was a representative from Lotus Charity Care Centre, an underprivileged children home, to receive our donation of cash and kinds. Al Fikrah takes in and provides for senior citizens who are poor, bedridden, or without family. They also house physically or mentally ill folks. Haji Azmi thanked MIG for its generosity and efforts in reaching out to the home. He appreciated the MIG team for taking time to spend with the senior citizens, who also expressed how happy they were to receive our team.
